Setting up your first project

A project is one website in SwiftLingo. Before you add it, it’s worth a quick look at how much text you’ll translate, so you can pick the right plan.

1. Estimate your word count

   Your plan includes a number of words per month. A full first translation uses roughly the words on your site × the number of languages: a 5,000-word site in three languages needs about 15,000 words. After that, only new and changed text uses quota. Understanding your quota explains the details.

2. Choose a plan

   Compare the plans on the pricing page and pick one that covers your first translation and how often your content changes. You can upgrade later.

3. Add your website

   After signing up, the dashboard asks for your website URL, original language and target languages. The Quickstart walks you through it, including DNS and the language switcher.
